At spice .boutique , we offer empty, self-fill teabags, manufactured from unbleached, plastic free and biodegradable corn fibre. Assembled and packed in Scotland, these all-natural teabags do not contain hazardous dioxins from the bleach used in typical teabags and allow you to conveniently brew your favourite loose leaf tea.
Our drawstring corn fibre teabags are available in two sizes:
6 x 8 cm - Our standard size corn fibre teabags. Available in quantities of 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1,000. Ideal for herbal, fruit, black or green teas.
9 x 13 cm - Our XL size is available in quantities of 50 and 100. Ideal for fine tea infusions.
Our self-fill teabags are easy to use. Simply fill the teabag with one heaped teaspoon of your favourite tea, pull the cotton drawstring to close and infuse the teabag in boiling water. After preparing your lovely cup of tea to your preferred strength, conveniently dispose of the teabag.
We also offer Corn Fibre Foldover (7.5 x 8 cm) teabags, which are ideal for stirring into a larger pot. You can find them and many more eco-friendly products in our store!
One simple premise - if we can convince you to fill a teabag with your own tea, we can take the plastic out of the whole process and we can make ALL our teabags BIODEGRADABLE.
All our teabags are HOME COMPOSTABLE, meaning that you can dispose of them safely in any bin and they will add ZERO TO LANDFILL.
By using our corn fibre teabags, you can help us to reduce the harmful dioxins in bleach seeping into our planet.
Therefore, spice.boutique plastic free teabags are:
Not coated in plastic to make the teabag strong
Not heat sealed at the top with micro-plastic glue
Not heat sealed at the sides with micro-plastic glue - we use compression and ultrasound.
